Comfort Pads
Each Xtensor comes with two comfort pads. One to cushion the back of the hand and a second on top of the first or on the palm piece for increased comfort on your palm.
Those with small adult hands may require an additional pad for greater comfort.

Finger Band Instructions
1. Select the finger bands most comfortable for your finger tips and configure them into the top row of tension anchors on your Xtensor.
2. With bands firmly in the top row anchors, pre stretch fingerbands prior to 1st use for best results.
3. Press your thumb onto a fingerband anchor while simultaneously holding ring of the fingerband.
4. Stretch each fingerband 5-8 times until it easily stretches 4-5 times its original length this will make sure the tail the fingerband does not pull through the anchor during use as well as to help prevent premature breakage.

Tension Levels
Top Row: Standard position for most users.
Middle Row: Advanced setting - gradually increase one finger at a time as comfortable beginning with the middle and ring fingers first.
Bottom Row: Very Advanced IMPORTANT: Designed for partial range of motion only to replicate playing the guitar/piano or the using the computer keyboard. Remove bands from this setting after use.

Instructions for normal, proper use of The Xtensor is based on a healthy individual performing 1-3 sets of 10-20 repetitions every other day.
Always seek approval from your medical specialist prior to beginning any exercise program.

When using The Xtensor
Depending on your individual capability, begin using your Xtensor with 1, 2, 3 or all 4 bands anchored into the top position. Maintain a neutral position at your wrist and hold your fingers open for 5-30 seconds for each repetition. Perform 10-20 repetitions per set.
If performing more than one set, rest in between each for 30-60 seconds.

Exercises
Hold your arm out straight and somewhat bent if necessary to avoid elbow sensitivity.
Begin with palm facing down; to the side or facing up Perform repetitions in each position for a total of 10-20 repetitions per set.
Exercise according to your individual capabilities.

Advanced exercises
1. Begin with palm facing down rotating palm up while fully opening the hand, hold open return and repeat.
2. Begin with palm facing up rotating down while fully opening the hand, hold open, return and repeat.
3. Simulate your golf or tennis swing, fully opening your hand as you follow through, hold open for 5-30 seconds, give a gentle squeeze and repeat.
